Berkeley 250 is Revolutionary

About Us

Mission: The Berkeley 250 Francis Marion Commission exists to promote and publicize Berkeley County’s cultural and educational tourism (1) through the identification and celebration of its unique Revolutionary Era history (sites, places, events, research, stories, and people) and (2) by educating and engaging Berkeley County residents in Revolutionary Era programming and the preservation of American Revolutionary assets.
Values: Diversity, inclusion, collaboration, partnerships, historical accuracy, welcoming, mission-focused, goal-oriented, preservation-minded, passionate, history-loving, storytelling and tourism-advocating.
Vision: To continually engage Berkeley County residents and visitors through partnerships that research, identify, mark, educate, and promote historically important places, people and events, focusing on the founding and early years of our nation …and beyond.
